When looking to capture or garner additional work, an agency may not have the staff to be able to execute a quick response to an RFP. I routinely step in to be a team player in helping make those pitches garner the business and succeed.
It starts with a call for help. The account staff figures out the deadlines and understands they don't have the staff to execute what the client demands. They understand they need seasoned professionals to pull the work together like they have been working on the account for years.
In these two cases, Leo Burnett had two client pitches that were back to back. It was the summer season when staff had already requested time off for vacation so they needed additional staff to make this happen. I worked with the account people and staff to determine the direction, what was needed, and then went about the task of making it happen. The list of requirements needed for a presentation can long or short, digital, print, PowerPoint, video, or all of those. In this instance for Keller, I had done extensive work with educational advertising including for CEC (Career Education Corp), University of Chicago, DePaul University, Cardian University (UNext Corp), and the Art Institutes. Allstate was a new client of work with but not a new industry sector. I have worked with many insurance cleints previously. What is essential is that the requirements are carefully thought out and Allstate has very clear branding specifications making the design process and execution easy.
These two client pitches were huge and required some extensive time (all day, all night, and weekends) to hit both deadlines. The deadline was made, the presentations were targeted, successful and Leo was able to maintain their happy stable of clients.
